This is a statement signed by two Justices of the Peace to the effect that John Rowell does have a legitimate claim to poor relief payments as a result of sickness causing permanent disability.
County of Huntingdon (to wit)
We the undersigned being two of Her Majesties justices of the peace in and for the said county do hereby certify that we have this day enquired into the place of the last ???? [looks like lifal] settlement of John Rowell ?????? [looks like Latous] ???? Apoor person?? shargeable to the parish of Stanground in the said county together with his wife and child in respect of relief made we ???? by sickness of the said John Rowell the sickness being such as will produce permanent disability in him – that the said John Rowell is legally settled in the parish of Folksworth in the said County but is irrecoverable by reason of his having ?? resided in Stanground aforesaid for twenty years now last past and upwards. Given under our hand this 28th day July 1852
