A John Rowell of Yaxley takes on as an apprentice cordwainer (someone who makes shoes from new leather) Richard Smith on Wednesday 3rd July 1799
UK, Register of Duties Paid for Apprentices’ Indentures, 1710-1811
In 1799 John Rowell senior would be 51
John Rowell junior would be only 26 this seems rather young to take on an apprentice. John junior was however married in Yaxley in 1796, whereas JohnRowell senior seems to be still living in Folksworth at this point.
John Rowell junior has two sons Christened in Yaxley in 1797 (Martin) and 1802 (John)
